Wong & Ouyang (Building Services) Ltd. (WOBS) was originally composed of a group of BS professionals used to work under the architectural company Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd. as the in-house building services engineers since 1970’s. WOBS was then incorporated in September 1989 and since then practised under Wong & Ouyang Holdings Ltd. mainly as the building services consultant for various kinds of buildings including grade A offices, high end commercial retails, luxurious hotels, institutional developments, Tier 2 to Tier 4 data centres, high class residential developments, hospitals etc. On 1 April 2009, WOBS formally spun off from the Wong & Ouyang group and is now practising as an independent building services consultant whilst still keeping close relationship with the Wong & Ouyang group of architects. WOBS is in the list of consultants of AACSB of Architectural Services Department - Band 1. 

The Company is organized into project teams each specialized according to the types and nature of the building. Closely supervised by the Directors, the Company employs over 100 professional and technical staff and is supported by the group specialists on AutoCAD and computerized administrative services. The Company has been providing quality services to clients since its establishment and is certified to ISO 9001.

WOBS is structured to provide professional consultancy services on full range of building services engineering, performance based fire engineering, sustainable/low energy building design and interior/exterior lighting design.

Equipped with the latest computer aided design and drafting facilities, the company is providing comprehensive consultancy services on all aspects of building services that range from feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design, project coordination, contract administration, inspection, site management, testing and commissioning, post commissioning analysis and expert advice on the following systems :-

1. Mechanical Services

Heating/air conditioning low energy systems, renewable energies and carbon management, refrigeration, mechanical and natural ventilation, smoke management and stair pressurization system, laboratory fume cupboard, boiler and steam services, fire suppression system, hot and cold water supply, drainage disposal, water and waste treatment, mechanical handling, pumping stations, automatic control and monitoring systems.

2. Electrical Services

H.V. and L.V. power distribution systems, vertical transportation, general and special lighting design, on-site and standby generation, computerized security/CCTV systems, building automation and energy management, automatic fire alarm and smoke control, telephone and communication systems.

WOBS will closely liaise with these specialists to produce a fully coordinated and integrated BS design for the project.

Apart from the traditional BS systems described above, the company has also collaborated with overseas specialists to perform design tasks in the following areas :- Fire engineering, Sustainable Green Building Design including LEED, BREEAM or HKBEAM certification, IT/Computer Structured Cabling system, Acoustic & Special Audio/Visual System, Food & Beverage Equipment, Laundry Equipment, Hospitality & Hygiene Engineering.

We can also provide services in design and preparation of Combined Services Drawings (CSDs) and Structural E&M Drawings (SEMs) for complex building projects. With the aids of sophisticated 3D modellings and computer simulation, the application and performance of CSDs/SEMs will greatly enhance performance of contractors on site and provide a great asset for the future facility management team.

Ir Chan is a chartered professional engineer and has over 28 years experience in building services design an project administration. He joined Wong & Ouyang (Building Services) Ltd. in 1986 and acted as Project-in-charge of One Pacific Place; Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel; The Sorrento Residential Development; The Langham Place Development; Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Expansion; The Centennical Compus at The University of Hong Kong; Kwun Tong (URA K7) Master Planning ; Shanghai Times Square Development; Shanghai Regal F.T. Hotel; Shanghai Everbright City Centre, Shanghai Central Plaza; Residential Development in Hainan and Wynn Macau Resorts.

He joined Wong & Ouyang (Building Services) Ltd. in 2009 and was involved in Encore at Wynn Macau, Property Development at Lee Tung Street/McGregor Street, Renovation for Hong Kong Baptist University and Projects for Hong Kong Housing Authority.
