The Murray, Hong Kong is a landmark adaptive re-use project transforming the former Murray Building into a five-star boutique hotel under the Niccolo brand. The redevelopment provides 336 guest rooms together with swimming pool facilities, ballrooms, fitness centre, high-end restaurants, lounges and bars, with a total gross floor area of approximately 31,000 square metres. Building services engineering played a critical role in upgrading the existing structure to meet contemporary luxury hotel standards while respecting the architectural heritage of the original building. The project was delivered under an extremely tight construction programme of approximately 36 months, requiring close coordination with statutory authorities including the Planning Department, Buildings Department and Fire Services Department. MEP systems were carefully designed and phased to support hotel operations, guest comfort, energy efficiency and fire safety compliance, demonstrating the capability to deliver complex hospitality projects under fast-track conditions.

Key Engineering Highlights:
•Adaptive re-use MEP design within a historic government building
•Fast-track coordination of statutory approvals and system implementation
